Elton John: “Music has healing power. It has the ability to take people out of themselves for a few hours.”
George Eliot: “Life seems to go on without effort when I am filled with music.”
Jon Kabat-Zinn: “It’s not a matter of letting go – you would if you could. Instead of “Let it go” we should probably say, ‘Let It Be’.”
A 70s song? Sure. Sound advice? Perhaps.
Yes, it is always good to let it go. Shake the dust off your shoulders. Move on. Although, sometimes it can be virtually impossible to let it go. Maybe, you are currently in the midst of challenges that just can’t be “let go”. So what is the alternative? Let It Be?

I sit here listening to the Beatles and understanding the difference. Letting go means kicking it to the curb, letting it have no more influence over you and moving on. Letting it be means living in the present with the cards that you have been dealt. Finding stillness in your situation whatever it is. Finding some sense of normalcy, some sense of I can work through this. I am strong.

Your sound of genuine could be letting it go, letting it be or any combination of both. It is your sound that is making your music and telling your story. Find the music that fills your heart and is your sound of genuine!
